Salute to Women's History Month | Seattle Women Owned and Beyond

Its officially March! Which means its Women’s History month. Women’s history month is a great chance to showcase only SOME of the incredible women I have met and had the opportunity to photograph along my journey. I am so excited to share this list of some of the women I complete adore, idolize and look up too.

Arianna Scott | Make Up Artist Extraordinaire

Arianna is one INCREDIBLE make up artist. I know so many make up artists (saving for another blog, by the way). But Arianna stands above. She is a bad ass entrepreneur. She has had incredible opportunities to travel around the country, work on massive projects and go to India with her make up. Arianna specializes in South Asian make up, but does an incredible job with inclusion and support of make up and beauty across all cultures and identities. I adore working with Arianna every single time, she supports my clients in feeling comfortable and getting a make up look that does not change the way they look at all.

Ruby | Model of all Models

Ruby is the cutest! I met Ruby through a mutual friend (who I will post too!). And instantly I knew this woman was a force of power beauty and vulnerability. She shared her story with me and her love of her body just flowed and glowed in our space. Let’s go down in history with Ruby.

Dr. Apfelbaum | Naturopath and Queen of Prevention

Dr. A is a naturopath physician in Woodinville, Washington. She is a huge advocate for preventative care and medical education. She runs a blog, and an instagram with tons of education around medical and natural options for lifestyle changes. Her knowledge is so important, so give her some love and let's continue to support one another in the realm of medical education. Being able to photograph her felt like an awesome honor!

Kat | Muse and Advocate

Katrina Rose is one o fly best friends, but outside of being my best friend, she is also a mental health, chronic illness, gender equality, women rights, animal rights and beyond advocate. She cares so much about humans and the WORLD. Kat has been one of my artistic muses like “uncut gemzzz”. But she has been supportive in so many aspects of my life, and has made a huge impact on not only my life, but those around her. She has an incredible voice, creative mind and loving heart.

Kelly Producer | Videographer, Producer, and Creator of Local Lens Seattle

Kelly is the most motivated, creative media presence I know. Kelly is the creator of Local Lens Seattle and if you don’t know what that is you need to go check it out on her YouTube channel here: Local Lens Seattle. Kelly is a production manager at King five and has worked her bum off for years getting herself into the world of lifestyle journalism. She is a true gem and has the best adventures.

Carla Marie | Radio Personality and Content Media Master

Carla Marie is one incredible soul. I randomly DM’d her on instagram about five years ago, and we have been friends ever since. I have been working with Carla Marie this entire time and watching her grow even when times such, has been incredible. They now have their own show, and podcast, and twitch stream. She also spreads so much awareness around following your dreams, supporting other women, and soooo many other things. She’s also the best cat mom in the world, and one of my creative outlets also!

Ellen | TV personality and Fantastical Author

I met Ellen through Kelly a few years ago and I am so glad I did. Ellen has been a creative powerhouse! Every halloween Ellen comes up with incredible concepts that allow me to push my limits. We have even shot with donuts and cameras, and so much more. She’s been brave enough to get into water, and crawl on the ground. In addition to being creative, Ellen is also a fabulous writer and Mental health advocate. She is a speaker for NAMI and is the words best hamster mom.

Michelle Li | Advocate and TV personality

Michelle Li makes me speechless. She was recently on the ELLEN SHOW!! What?? Yes, she recently shared a story with the world that has created this boom of advocacy to the AAPI community. Michelle’s vulnerability about all things in her life has allowed the world and so many communities to connect with her. She advocates for not only the AAPI community, but adoptees, mothers and so many more.

Lastly, I will include myself here :)

Andrea, Photographer and Mental Health Therapist!

I am so excited to say that I am an entrepreneur and bad ass because I have worked so hard to be where I am. about 10 years ago I had a dream of being a photographer AND a therapist. And that goal has been achieved. Therefore I believe I deserve a seat at this women’s history month table. So here I am!!
